Deadeye Cabernet Sauvignon: A Powerful and Bold Wine from Provenance Vineyards
Over the past 150 million years, Napa Valley was formed by tectonic plate movement and volcanic activity. This extreme geology created soil diversity unique to any other region in the United States. Deadeye Cabernet Sauvignon by Provenance Vineyards is from the finest vineyards throughout Napa (the best of the best in our opinion), in which each vineyard adds another layer of rich complexity.
Big and bold, this full-bodied Cabernet offers power and finesse in the intensely extracted and concentrated wine. Incredible depth of structure supports an expansive palate saturated with black fruit, rich dark chocolate, and toasty espresso.
The Cabernet grapes come from acclaimed Napa Valley vineyards: Rutherford, Oakville, Diamond Mountain, Yountville, and Howell Mountain.
Following hand harvesting, fermentation gently extracts the deep purple color and rich varietal flavors from the skin. A portion of the wine was fermented in new French barrels, with the balance in stainless steel to enhance the plush texture of the wine and integrate fruit and oak character.
James Suckling awarded the 2018 vintage 95 points, saying, "Fresh black-fruit, dark-chocolate, black-tea, clove, and cedar aromas. It’s full-bodied with firm, tight-grained tannins. Structured and refined. Mineral notes join the dark fruit and spice on the finish. Better from 2024."
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded the 2017 vintage 93 points, stating, "...Full-bodied, rich and opulent in the mouth, the palate is jam-packed with black fruit preserves and dried blackberry layers, framed by velvety tannins and a lively backbone, finishing especially spicy. One for the hedonists!"
Deadeye Cabernet Sauvignon by Provenance Vineyards is a truly exceptional wine that showcases the best of Napa Valley's terroir. With its powerful yet refined characteristics, it is sure to impress even the most discerning wine connoisseurs.
