La Chica Loca Mezcal
A premium, craft made mezcal from Mexico, La Chica Loca Mezcal is produced in Santiago Matatlan,
Oaxaca, “The World Capital of Mezcal,” located in the district of Tlacolula de Matamoros. Oaxaca, a
region of diverse ecosystems, allows for a rich production of more than thirty species of agave used for
mezcal production. La Chica Loca production is craft, cooked in an earth, underground, conic-shaped
oven heated by volcanic rock, milled with tahona to extract the rich juices of the cooked agave. After
harvest, cooking, and milling, it is fermented and distilled organically, with natural yeast. La Chica Loca is
distilled twice to perfection by the Master Mezcalero, Hernan Hernandez before coming together as a
crystalline spirit in a bottle.
Personified as a mezcal brand, La Chica Loca embodies the fertility and sacredness if the Zapotec female
deity associated with the maguey plant. A mezcal brand with a female name and essence, La Chica Loca
